Does Roehl have automatics?

Tennessee Traveler. I cant help you with Roehl refrigerated, but I did pull dry vans for them. I found them to be a very good company to drive for.I also have 15 yrs experience.I read some posts here from the newbies and I cant figure them out. I guess they think they are gonna go to drivers school then slip into a utopia driving situation. I had a couple of issues with Roehl, however a phone call to my DSR or Fleet Mgr. always cleared things up. Seeing as how you have 14 yrs. experience,I think you will find Roehl to your liking. As far as the complaining new drivers, are concerned,no matter what career you choose ,you gotta pay your dues. Have a good work attitude, make your deliveries on time, and the better things will come your way.I am retired now and hopefully will remain retired this time.At 70 yrs. of age,I no longer have a desire to go back out on the road again, but I still have that class A CDL in my wallet.

There are a few floating around, but I think they are left over from the Blume purchase. The guy I tested out with yesterday got one.

I've only been driving reefers since December, so I guess I don't qualify to respond to your question. But I hope you hate reefers -- more freight for me.

From my understanding, they have a KW or Pete they've been using as a "loaner" since noone wants the automatic... maybe if you begged, you could have it permanently assigned.

I've been with Roehl for 8 1/2 years now, last year I made a little over $52,000 and was home 69 days out of 365 (not counting partial days) and my log books back me up. You know how Roehl is about being legal so you know my log books are pretty #### accurate. Don't know what division you worked for dut I'm in the national curtainside division and very satisfied with where I am and where I'm heading. Hope things work out for you in the future, Easy Money

Roehl bought out Blume Refrigerated awhile back and got stuck with some pretty beat up equipment, most of the trucks were automatics and some were in such bad shape that Roehl could'nt get anyone to drive them to Marshfield (Main terminal). But if your only interested in driving automatics you might want to consider US Express, personally I like to scratch a gear once in awhile just to remind myself I'm a truck driver. Good luck, Easy Money

Really can't help you with information about the REFER division with Roehl, the company is fairly new in the Refer, I have talked with several drivers that switched from Van to Refer and they were happy with it so far. No matter what division you work in (Van, Flat, Curtain or Refer) Roehl's standards and expectations are high. Safety comes first and always first, and LEGAL is right behind SAFETY. Good luck, I'm sure Roehl will be a better company with you on board, see you down the road, if you see truck # 7728 pulling a curtain be sure to wave cause I salute all my brothers and sisters when our paths cross. Easy Money

Been quite awhile since I went through the training program with Roehl, but as for me, I stayed out with my trainer for 3 weeks then got a ride to my house just before Christmas and had to get a ride to meet evolution 11 driver about 30 miles away just after New Years. They should have told you what to expect and to make arrangements ahead of time. Sorry that this happened, I know I'd be PISSED if they pulled something like that to me, so yes you should be PISSED. To be honest with you I put up with a lot of #### my first year with Roehl, but I did'nt know any better. For instance, I did'nt know I could fire my DSR and be assigned a different DSR by simply going over his head and complaining that we did'nt see eye to eye on almost every aspect of the job and especially home time. After 3 1/2 years of putting up with the ### HOLE of all ### HOLES he was fired for the way he talked to his drivers on the phone, Someone complained and the company monitored his phone calls for a week and then fired him the following Monday. I feel like I won the lottery with the DSR I have now, Russ is the BEST DSR a driver could hope to have. Enough about me, the short of it is Evolution 1 and 2 is no pic-nic but once your in your own truck life will get alot better , don't forget that your DSR's paycheck comes from your work not his and if your DSR does'nt treat you like you expect to be treated tell him or her that you want to talk to the division supervisor. No trucking company makes money unless the wheels are turning with freight in the back and a DRIVER at the wheel. Roehl wants only the best, and to keep the best they will work with you to keep you. Good luck and hope to see you on the road, Easy Money (truck # 7728 )
