Test it? Just replace it. If you are going to take it out anyway... Go to a higher voltage at the same value. They are cheap enough and you wont have to hear any whining from the buyer later on.

 

I'll give you your money back and pay the shipping if it looks half way decent. I'll bet you don't get it fixed, right, very cheap unless you can do it yourself......just an option for you to consider.

 

Sucks to hear the miss is forcing you to thin down the herd.....yes hams can use said amps, problem is not that many do since they lack filtering....plus when those hams sit on eBay flagging down ads, they automatically know the true intent of said amp...sad but true
