Hey yall! I have been reading the posts on this site since I started on my path to becoming a trucker. I appreciate all the info, but now I need a job and hoped you guys could fill me in. Does anyone have any info on BTC. I like how they look and they are affiliated with the school I am attending. So any input will be appreciated. Thanks!
I need a company

It's not all roses at BTC. But everyone I know (personally) has had good things to say about them. Of course, they had bad things to say too.
Just from what I hear. They would not be a bad company to start with. And you can get home fairly regular. You may need to think about a way out, after being there awhile.
Here's why:
The drivers I know, do not work for BTC at this time. They got better paying jobs. They would go back, if they needed to though. And most felt they left the company on good terms, and the company would take them back.
YES I consider that a positive comment about a company. The fact a driver sees them as a place they would not mind returning to, even with a cut in pay. -
Thanks for the info danc694u. I am going to turn in my app. for them on mon.
I have two others I am looking at also. FFE&arrow. If not them my fall back is us express. I have not herd many good things about them but I am gona be a newbie and in need of experience. -
Arrow maybe, FFE is a big NO IMHO. I spoke with them about a year and half ago. Didn't like a thing the recruiter told me. Of course she didn't say anything that the other 100 didn't say before her.

i worked # btc for 18 yrs until my health would not allow me to do flatbed work any longer.this is a family owned company and not somewhere where you are just a number...they take care of you .we had our share of run ins during 18 yrs,but id go back to work in an instant if i could still do flatbed work. i've heard the owners of this company say "2 things this company will not mess with is a drivers paycheck and a drivers family" and they've always stuck w/it. if you ever have a problem you go up the "chain of command" (just like the military) but if all else fails, there is a door at the end of the hallway with the name Frank J.Phillips Sr. PRESIDENT on it.He will talk to every driver that needs to talk...
BTW danc694u where do you live in MS? -
Exactly 50.7 miles from our terminal in Myrtle, MS

Thanks allikatzpop. One of my instructors at school is a former emp. as well, and told me he would put in a good word for me. Hope it does the trick. They are my top choice.
