What is the strangest application you have ever seen a truck in today I saw a brand new kenworth t680 single axle sleeper box truck. Which I thought looked weird. And I have seen a mack cabover dump truck 1980s model that also looked strange but I liked the looks of both.

Had a service call for a Volvo with a major airleak, stuck on an off-ramp. I get out there and it's a big-@$$ed RV conversion. Easy fix, turned out the cable for the wet-tank drain was hooked to the battery holddown bar, which had slipped off the side of the batteries, pulling the cable and activating the drain. Reinstalled the holddown, checked that it built up and held air properly, then checked out the rig while payment went through. Double slideouts, big TVs, matching trailer, the works.

Then there's the old KW cabover without front brakes. I'm thinking it was a converted straight truck with a 5th wheel added, long, long wheelbase.

Back in the day front breaks were not required .
I had a truck that had a switch that said wet road dry road on it so you could turn off the front brakes in the rain .

They thought that no brakes would be safer on wet roads so you wouldn't lock the front wheels and lose control in a skid .

I use my 2000 Sterling for pulling my sprayer, spreader and seeder. Dont know if it qualifies as weird or not.

I think they weren't required until July 1980 iirc. A former landlord of mine owns a house moving business and uses a 1974 White Roadboss with no front brakes, a winch, and pnuematic height adjustment for the 5th wheel. A pretty cool rig in a somewhat unusual job.

Don't know if it qualifies or not but that thing could be the most fun you ever had with your pants on.
