Didn't purchase yet. I plan on purchasing in a few weeks. I will start off with a 2009/2010. Something around 400-500k miles. Between 40-55k. Most of these trucks still have their warranties. Once I get a year under my belt, I will get a newer truck.

Buy new or "newer" and you might run into maint. issues. Most newer trucks are sold for a reason. I buy older trucks for cash and then fix or rebuild them in my shop, and just keep up the maintenance. I don't run California, so there is no issues with CARB compliance. Right now my current truck is a 1989 Pete 379exhd. 6+4 trans, 410 rears. Does over 100 mph. Bought for 10,000, new motor 15,000, kingpins etc sitting at 35,000 total with a new paint and interior. Any good auto upholstery shop can redo the interior and you get what you want and not the same as everyone else's rubber stamped factory one. But you have to like working on an older truck. And I do. Just my two cents thou. If you are just going to run the crap out of it and then dump it then buy used or short term lease a new one. Only you can make that kind of business decision. I like old iron.

Same here, funny how my old 98 Pete passes a lot of new trucks sitting on the side of the road.

I don't even understand the value of a glider. Every part on these old trucks can be rebuilt. No payments, cheaper insurance, Home time.

Very possible. If my trucks don't gross $5K/wk, I'm disappointed, and frankly not making much money. Last 3 years we've averaged right at $5500/wk per truck, fleet of 6. This includes weeks when drivers take vacation/break downs and the truck grosses $0.
