BEELMAN. Anyone know anything about them? Just wondering about orientation if they have one at all. Normal stuff like how long, physicals, paperwork, drug test, etc. Ive been pulling frameless dumps and hoppers for a year now and dont tink I can handle another day going to adm. If you have been to adm you know what I mean. Wouldnt be bad but Im paid percentage. Hard to make a living when your sitting for hour's upon hour's not getting loads

I also feel something is not right with my applications, I previously was accountant back in the 90's and a computer programmer in Europe from 2001 thru 2007 when my company was merged or taken over, since then I've been a Day Trader(self-employed). I recently decided that I needed to get back to the workforce(need people interaction) and not wanting an office job decided on Trucking. I just passed my NJ CDL permit and started applying to some Companies(Roehl, Prime, Maverick, Millis) for their CDL training programs. Roehl emailed me saying that they "can't hire from NJ" but have not heard from the others. I've also contacted TDI, LCCC and Sage in PA, I have the money to pay up front, but am now afraid to go that route and then not be able to find a job to pay for the cost of private school. The reason only I can think of why I'm not getting calls has to be because of a DWI back in '98 and my being a Day Trader the last 6 years which could be considered unemployed. I've been doing a lot of research on companies and din't want to go the England, USA truck and swift route..

BTW the reason I'm getting into trucking is not because I'm broke from daytrading..LOL

No disrespect but that is just crap. Unemployment for any amount of time where there is employment history is discrimination. Because of my position in 2008, I was thrown out of my career because I was the highest paid employee. After 28 years I was passed over for younger people accepting lesser wages. I ended up working overseas as an independent contractor in the middle east. I have made significant money to take plenty of time off over the last few years and have been recently rejected by Prime for not enough work in the last 3 years. I have no driving infractions, never had an accident. No criminal history. Had a secret security clearance and a valid passport. That to me is discrimination.

Go to a community college CDL school that's at least 160 hrs. You shouldn't have any problems finding a job after that. Get all the endorsements plus TWIC and a passport. You probably already have the passport.

Document your time with W-2 forms and explain unemployment such as you had plenty of money from working overseas and the difference in costs of living here in the USA made you realize the money isn't going to stretch like you thought it would.

Contact Millis Transfer about their CDL school. From what's been posted on here, the owner is an excellent boss and very understanding of peoples different situations in life.

A few others posted on here they inherited enough money to take a few years off & they found work after CDL school.

    to floydborga:
I would call the recruiters and ask your questions to an actual person instead of just waiting for them to respond to your online applications. Just get their recruiting phone numbers from Google.

Prime is a very bad company, almost on the level of CR England. You should thank your lucky stars they passed you over.
