The company I work for will allow drivers to pickup a hitchhicker(s) only to get them to the nearest "safe harbor" (truck stop, gas station, ect), and we'd have to send the company a msg notifing we are taking so many people to safety.

    That's cool!
It appears the company you drive for actually pays their drivers to think.
If I were you, DS, I'd ring your company's bell here. I think it's great when a company thinks I'm gonna be able to think, I think.
    Ya know? :biggrin_25523: :biggrin_25525:

    I'd buy the story.
    Here's why -------------

I figure with ALL the BAD Big truck truck drivers we hear about at SWIFT,
I figure, odds are, there's gotta be at LEAST a few who can git 'er done.
That might be a long-shot, but it's where I'd place my bet.

I've met a few SWIFT drivers I'd team with. And THAT says a LOT.
I don't sleep well with one eye open.
I gotta trust that driver --- potentially, with my life and the lives of others.
Proof is in the puddin' --- no matter WHAT color Big truck delivered it.
    That's my opinion,
and I approve of this message. :biggrin_25525::biggrin_25523:

While picking up hitchhikers is not a good idea I think most companies will have no problem getting someone to safety if they are broke down. It is the responsible thing to do

I must say with the *meet Jesus in OKC is by far the most hilarious post I read on here. but if if I was in your shoes I wouldn't be joking about it at all. I would probably be saying I can't wait for the next safe spot for to come up so you can get off. me & my trainer just seen a odd lately on I-80 West I believe about 45 minutes after Winnecumma NV & my trainer said what would she be doing right here hot as it is outside

I doubt you'll get replies on a 6 year old thread. I only recognize two of the people still here. In other words you are talking to no one! :)
