I just applied. I have applied to Swift and Stevens Transport and no one calls back..I have a class b but its not doing me any good...need to provide for my family thought it would be easier getting on somewhere and getting trained.

 

Have you tried Knight Transport? They also have their own training program.

Southern Refrigerated Transport - bus ticket to the school, hotel room, 3 meals a day & no charge if you stay a year.

Celadon - about the same.

 

It could be the reason they did not call back is they are waiting on you to call again. If you call them again it will show that you are interested in THEM instead of tossing out calls to a bunch of companies hoping for any one of them to call .
Southern Ref is out of Texarkana and will put you up at the LaQuinta on state line rd. Nice place. I stay there when I have layover there.

 

Good to read input, but I need to add that reading the stuff on 'Bad Trucking Companies' will enlighten those interested in Celadon and Southern Ref. Sadly, newbies all want to believe in 'the dream'. A few recent grads who have been driving team and then quit the industry have explained - surprise - the business plan of the carriers is rigged so nobody really can make a living as a company driver any longer. No, not everybody is jumping ship. As an older gal who was behind that wheel for a couple of years, with borderline blood pressure issues, I was on borrowed time myself. Great experiences, just proving to myself I could survive. Never made a dime. Glad I had a home to go home to.

 

Chinatown what's your opinion of Celadon? They have a terminal less than 5 miles from me in NC but I'm just not to sure about the team driving thing. Thoughts??
