Felonies dont mean anything. I have 2 and I have turned down quite a few offers from major carriers in the past 3 months. The fact that some one has been convicted doesn't mean they should feel any less of an asset to a company than someone who hasn't been convicted. I am proof that being a Felon and getting into this industry is not as hard as many of you drivers who are always being negative make it seem.

I wasn't trying to put you or anyone with felonies down. The hard fact is that if you have felonies (especially including violence, theft, or drugs) it is harder to be hired. Western Express is a company that is a little more relaxed on accepting felons vs a company like TMC or a hazmat tanker company. And I have to disagree with "felonies dont mean anything". If they didn't mean anything, there wouldn't be a space on the applications that say, "List all felonies".

Thanks for replies everybody. I've read countless posts on here about WE. All seem to agree they suck. I actually graduated cdl school in 2006, went to orientation at a few companies but ended up leaving...by my choice. I'm afraid other companies wouldn't accept be because of that. Also, WE offers a refresher. I really don't want to fork out a coupe thousand for one at a private school. I'm looking at Celedon, too. They seem to be a lot better. Thanks again for telling me about that health assessment. I couldn't find anything about that anywhere.

I agree this company is bs I have a close friend who is really trying to leave this company he was out 2 months came home for a day and a half znd they were trying to send him back out. I no for sure he makes around 600_750 before taxes bt the high turn over rate is a dead giveaway. There trucks are pretty nice thats about it they only care about you running.

OP: If I have the time tomorrow, I'll ask one of the half dozen or so WE drivers sitting outside the Target DC, waiting for trailers. Apparently, WE doesn't allow the drivers to leave without an empty, and there are no extras. So they sit and wait 6-8 hours, burning out their 14.

Also, don't worry about having attended orientation at other companies. If they didn't pay you to be there, then you weren't actually hired by them, and so there's no reason to list them on an application.

I'm sorry to say that with a 6 year old CDL and no driving experience, you're most likely going to have to go through training again. You may be able to find some local work with a small company (and these often pay well), but you may have to start over at square 1. Whatever you do, don't surrender your CDL for *any* training program!

I broke down and called them. According to the recruiter, they RARELY hire teams, and when they do, they split 38 CPM shesh Yall are all very much right about this place.

We all have reasons for where we apply. I am not up to the physical agility thing at Roehl or TMC, I will not go to a company that regularly send drivers out or sleep study's. I wont. So I dont think WE is the first choice by any means, I would problably go with Heartland or Freymiller, first. I've done a considerable amount of skateboard work, and those tarps are no joke, same as walking a load in the wind to spread the tarp. But I really dont think those agility test have that much to do with the job, is about the company covering there butt's and I don't blame them for that. I just spent the last four years throwing chains and tarps, and noww to works for Roehl I have to prove myself, not for me.
