OK First of all I know alot of you are going to say "Don't do it" But I will anyway..Why? Because I possess the proper financial attributes and I'm single too and don't have bills to worry about. OK I decided to lease my own truck I think its probably going to be the Kenworth T-600. It seems to be the better truck what do you guys prefur here are the stats of the 2 trucks I have decided to chose from
Kenworth T-600, 10 speed transmission, C15 engine, 2005 as for the gear ratio I don't know. I herd Kenworths like to suck down the oil is this true?
International Eagle 9400: 13 speed transmisson, cummins engine, Year 2005.
Now I feel good about doing this I really think I can survive I have the Oieda calculator that figures what I need to make a annually to be successfull. It says I need around 120,000 miles a year to be "Really successfull"
Whats better Kenworth T-600 Or International 9400 eagle

t6 everytime....7+ mpg
who told you kw's drink oil?? they were nuts
cats are good motors up to the 07's, but if it were me i'd go for an 03 or older...mucho more reliable, and got same if not better mileage
ih's are nice trucks, but they depriacate very quikly, and the roof bubble, while it serves its purpose, is just plain ugly
cummins is a good motor -
I appreciate it the comment I just wish I could get the gear ratios for the 2 trucks. I need better climbing power I still am about 97% sure it will be the T-600.

T6 all the way as bronc said. In addition, the T6 is more aero than the 9400I so it has less wind resistance thus the better fuel economy. Finally, does it have full fairings? Btw, if decide on it, you should be able to take it in and get the gear ratio.

Isn't the gear ratio listed on the sticker inside the driver's door? Just curious.

it should be
a 13 in the kw with 3.55 rears would pull hills nicely....trust me -
If you'll drive a lot in mountains better way to have 13 speed, and compare 2005 Cat and Cummins-Cummins would be more economical.

You can't put a name to the oil gettiing sucked down. There are many trucks that do suck oil, and many that don't all depends on the shape of the motor.
Lets hear some little bit more about this "lease deal", If I had to run 120,000 miles to become "really successfull" I am not sure that is such a good deal. 120,000 miles a year is running pretty hard, and no plans for being sick, vacation, etc. etc. I would love to hear more about this, and since I am now a o/o and a former lease operator I have been suckered into the "sweet deal" before. Will you be leasing with a carrier as in leasing their trucks? One big rule is never lease a truck from the person who controls your freight and has their own trucks. -
100k aint runnin that hard
i did it last year in 8 months with 74 days at the house -
True, but 120k is running pretty good and I am curious to what "really successful" is to him.
