i have a dilemma. I been a driver for 15yrs out of the last 20. Last April I was at home for home time and I smoked some pot. Got back out on the road and my company pulled me in for a random. I failed and lost my lease. I know it stays on my dac for 3 yrs. Does anyone have any suggestions on any companies out of west coast that don't do dac? (I live an hour se of Reno, NV)

Your only chance is with small companies. Good luck with that cause they vary in dependability and a failed drug test stays with you longer than that. Good luck we all make mistakes but in this industry they really make you pay for all of them

Go badger!!! :p Sometimes, it just needs to be done lol, enjoy your time home!

autocorrect get the best of you jimmy? lol, yeah like jaso said, no matter how good you are now that is something that sticks there like a red flag for a long time, smaller companies that are willing to take a chance may be the best option, just call around, tell them the story and see, couldn't hurt any. worst they can do is say nope.

I don't think TransAm will fit your needs, you are out of their hiring area.

I really don't like being a butt at a customer. But it's Walmart. Ugh. I know darn well my mouth is going to get me in trouble. But it was a bad day from the time I got up. I was also irritable because I only got two hours of sleep and hadn't eaten since yesterday.

I don't know what it is about the very thought of a WalMart delivery that can just ruin your day. The King got a couple of hours detention pay out of the deal but it still put him in a rotten mood for the rest of the day.

I can't add much in the way of help for you other other than to tell you something that you might consider. When my husband was in cdl school one of the students was a long time driver that was in a situation very similar to yours, only a bit worse. He had been hired by one of the mega-carriers with the proviso that he complete a refresher course. I'm sorry but I don't remember who the carrier was ....but it might be something that you could check into to see if it would give you a better chance of being hired.

If I remember right I believe TransAm does use HireRight.
