Well now I'm going to try and not be to picky, but the truck I'm lookin for is an International 9900 eagle, no older than an 05', with no more than 300,000 miles, 475 horse cat with a 10 or 13 speed tranny, long wheel base, with a 72" midroof sleeper, electric everything, cause I'm lazy, for the low low price of say...$50 K...

One more thing, if something has been overhauled ask for papers, if they don't have none then consider it "fake overhaul". Also a good tip is to pay for a oil sample and if they won't do it RUN!!!!! I always asked for a copy of the mainetence records BEFORE I went down and bought it. If there were very good maintence records, chances are it was taken care of. if the p/o also decided not to keep records, chances are he didnt take care of the truck. I always try to stay away from fleet trucks, and try to buy from o/o's. I have been looking at auctions before I bought my truck and MOST of the trucks were in great condition and would easily go for 20k under the the "fair market price is". The Pete 379's and KW W9's would generally go for a little bit more then the other trucks. The down fall to the auctions is you can't drive them. You can start them up, look over it, etc. etc. but just can't move it. Keep your eyes open there are some great deals out there, since truck values are down right now.

Thanks Kinghunter, looks to be right up my alley, gonna send them and e-mail for more info and a phone number...just makes me nervous buying something half way across the country for that kind of money.

those are decent. The binders are a bit cheaper on build qualitythan pacar but they are a ton better than freightliners and priced better. Personally I don't understand the big hood, external air cleaners but stacks behind the cab. not like you are cutting down on air drag with all the other stuff still out there

Dieseldriver,
The next better price is 60 something thousand for the cat unless you want cummings. It seems a lot of people like cats in their internationals. Can someone tell me why there is more cummins on the market rather than cats?

If you can not find a 990IX you like, try a 9400I. Same brand and tough quality but a little cheaper.
