As a former Marten driver I can tell you that in orentation you sign to papers one allowing them to make deductions from your final check for any missing item and the other confirming that you understand that you are working under WI state labor laws.
So if you live in CA or any other state that has great labors laws you have signed those rights away.skibum_63 Thanks this. -
Yes, this is true, when you go to work for them.
The deduction form is buried in the middle of the pile of paperwork one signs during orientation.
It signifies that you agree to pay the cost of missing items.
Now on the other hand, when you leave their employment, a company representive is suppose to sign off on the stuff you have returned, In the case of your husband, he should of taken pictures of all the stuff he left in the truck, when he got out of it. -
"Bottom line: The major shareholders rake in record profits while at the same time they are intentionally cheating the workers out of as much monetary compensation as possible. Means more dough for themselves. And as little as possible for the drivers.
The upper echelon "execs" in the companies make as much as much as $40 million a year for... one man.
Some will say that such a high salary is well deserved, given all the involved "risks".
All this while company drivers are lucky to get a couple hundred bucks a week. Sometimes to risk their very lives; certainly their family life.
How much longer will we drivers put up with this?"
OK. Get in on the action then. Buy some trucking company stock.jbatmick Thanks this. -
Stock generally does not get you any action. Very few stocks pay any dividends and the for the ones that do pay chicken feed for the level at which a truck driver can buy in.
Unless you have big money to start out with, you cannot buy enough stock in a company to have any decision making influence. You are at the mercy of the decision making and honesty of those at top. You and your money are totally at the mercy of the big player's in the stock game. The only value in owning stock is the hope that the big players will be honest enough and lucky enough to increase the value of your purchase. As we have seen in recent times, that is not always the case. Most of the time, for the average person, purchasing stock is just a bad bet.Surfer Joe Thanks this. -
You are wrong.
I am making almost as much in the stock market as I am trucking, but it takes time to do it. -
That's still a vague statement..Your making as much in a business that pays poorly for some, and your trucking?

Im listening..Shaggy Thanks this. -
Who's your broker ?
What stocks do you own ? -
Be a great idea!
Before I do so, however, I gotta' quit being a company driver and go to work for McDonalds, flipping burgers, so that I can finally earn enough "disposable income" to buy trucking company stock. -
I give hoffa jr money and all i get is ...................... Ah nevermind, not worth TTR material. Similar to letting wall street play with my funds
GabeScott Thanks this.
