I just read about the lawsuit and saw all of the others, open end my eyes. I was really impressed with all of the extravagant properties the CEO owns. I wonder how anyone could sleep at night knowing that the people that earned the money to pay for his grand life style are sweating and freezing by the thousands earning minimum wage.

Do you collect per-diem at the end of the year? I am at the beginning of becoming an I/C and the issue of "tax home" has been brought to my attention.

It's on the front page of this website we are on right now. thetruckersreport.com in the news section

The thing about the law suit and settlement that confuses me, is why does SNI have to pay some discruntle lumpers? Last I knew, SNI didn't employ any lumper's.
-
It states that the workers were employed by SNI, had no idea SNI employed lumper's.... paying themselves to unload someone elses freight? Just sounds suspicious... to me.

If you got 10 years exp, you should be able to find a much better co, with much better pay, to drive for.

I got written up last summer for over idle. I told them sorry that my safety was cutting into there profits and next time I will just have a heat stroke. What's more important? Making more profit or paying for a drivers workers comp. It's not like these big companies aren't going to make a profit because the trucks are over idling. The companies profits so much because they pay us so little. I dont driver for Schneider btw. Sounds like shift lol. But it doesn't matter. The big ones are all the same. The only thing there good for is getting your foot in the door. I am looking into ways I can really make a profit in this industry. Drive safe guys.

It's schneider logistics, which is a separate company from schneider national. They operate at least a few warehousing facilities around the country (two I know of are the walmart facility in Elwood, il and also the port warehouse in savannah ga). So yeah, they employ "lumpers" aka dock workers at those facilities. Apparently they had or have one in California. Not sure if they still operate there for walmart
