For a new guy, it's huge. It's normally the starting point.

Exactly. And depending on what the thing is, and how the weight is configured, you may have difficulty getting your weights right on a tandem. If it's a long piece and heavy on one end, you may find it difficult to keep a tandem under 40k.

Last two weeks I've been routed into SR 2005 in PA. WTF is that? Thank goodness they give you the distance to the beginning of the next road. Only way I could figure where SR 2005 was was to drive 28.5 miles and get off RT 15 on whatever road it was LOL. Turns out it was Old RT 15. Drove 18 miles and got back on new Rt 15. Pretty sure I should have had a local permit for that but I didn't.

I don't normally get bothered about the provision sheets, but I did have one scale master at that last westbound scale on 80 in Illinois ask for them. I got on the scale.. He yellow lighted me. I pulled around back, went in with my permit, BOL, and registration and my IPAD

"Yessir. OPER 993 dated 1.14, electronic form"

Most don't ask for them. I was just stating that if your permit states that you're supposed to have them, be sure to carry them to CYA.

You are correct. I just took a 12 wide from Greenville to Ohio and they routed me down some crazy roads. After I finished the load and was scanning my paperwork in, I realized that I was supposed to call the local police for an "escort" thru 2 of the towns ... Oops lol

The westbound scale on I80 exiting Illinois will always ask for it...

Thank God I don't haul down in PA! Up in the great white north, our permits are significantly easier to understand...
