Howdy everyone!!! Havnt been around in a while.... They keepin me so busy I havnt hardly had time to pull over to take a bathroom break lol... Sitting in Garden city kansas waitin on my load to get ready then off to Illinois.... again..... went through the chicago area 7 times in 6 days last week.... Also for the first time its looking like i may have to take a reset..... been pushing so hard lol.... Otherwise all is good How is everyone?

 

I was going to send you a text, gamma! I haven't seen you or ajacks online in a few days and was beginning to wonder about you!

 

I always goto the 595 truck stop on Davie. Right there 595 and 441. Large lot and it is secure. My DM allowed me to drop my trailer there and i would Bob tail to stores. Only thing is it $15 to park the night there. But good TS. They have washout on site too.

You are all far too quiet this weekend ...for goodness sakes....so I guess I have to give you all something to argue with me about. It won't do you any good because we all know this is the pure truth .....

Why Men Are Just Happier People!

What do you expect from such simple creatures!?

Their last name stays put.

The garage is all theirs.

Wedding plans take care of themselves.

Chocolate is just another snack.

They can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.

Car mechanics tell them the truth.

The world is their urinal.

Same work, more pay.

Wrinkles add character.

Wedding dress - $5000; tux rental - $100.

People never stare at their chest when they're talking to them.

The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.

New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.

One mood, all the time.

They know stuff about tanks.

A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.

They get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.

Their underwear is $6.95 for a six pack.

Everything on their face stays its original color.

Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.

They don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

They almost never have strap problems in public.

They are unable to see wrinkles in their clothes.

The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.

They don't have to shave below their neck.

Their belly usually hides their big hips.

One wallet and one pair of shoes, one color, all seasons.

They can "do" their nails with a pocketknife.

They have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.

They can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives, on December 24, in 45 minutes.

 

It just doesn't seem fair, does it HTQ? Ok, in fairness, where's the list about women? Like, where would guys be without us? I think it's fair to say that, unless guys or gals are bitterly against the opposite sex, we complete one another and balance each other (in many ways, personalities, talents, abilities, compassion [or the lack of], etc.).

George might jump on here in the morning. His load got swapped. Now he still has a 3 stopper, and Medley is one of the stops, but they're due on Tuesday. He's been running hard, but the Monday a.m. stop would have been a bit late. Another driver with more hours on his clock took his load and traded with George.

Hopefully he will fill in the gaps, but the swap is yet another story. George stopped somewhere else (a truck stop in Northern Florida, I believe) prior to the trade, to make a swap with a woman. He knocked on the cab door, curtains were drawn, she must have been taking a snooze and guess he woke the grumpy she bear. He said, despite it beings dispatch's orders, the woman said "not doing it!" I won't go into much more detail here, but he informed duspatch and kept on stepping. What a "trip!!!" BTW, he's feeling some better, but you know what they say about a summer cold...takes longer to get over.

 

I believe he has one. I've heard him speak of checking it to find a truck stop in the area he will be stopping overnight, depending on his location. Thanks so much for posting the chart for Medley though....so nice & thoughtful of you!

 

I'm glad he's feeling better, jungHo. It does take longer to get over colds, etc. during the summer.
Swaps are always interesting ....I think if everyone on here compiled their stories about swaps we would have quite a book! They have their good points and their bad. One of the main benefits on some of the swaps is the ability to get drivers home on schedule. The King had some bad ones over the years, some interesting ones, and some that were a benefit to him. George needs to always scale .....as Pete pointed out there is a difference in weight between the KW 680 and the 700, you also never know how the load as been handled and how it was loaded, and as a company driver TransAm pays for you to weigh it.
The list of truck stops for Medley came from www.findfuelstops.com .It is usually my starting point when I am looking to get an idea of what might be available in a certain area, they also have a mobile app for your phone. If I don't find what I am looking for on that site then I start digging a little deeper.
