Whenever possible if you have to take a 10 on that Vegas run, get up to higher ground in the desert. It will be at least 10-15 degrees cooler than Vegas.

I understand where you coming from and to be honest you are right because that is the best mental approach that I should have, especially since I want to have my own truck one day.

for some reason, the qc nav had me go i-80 to i-25 then here. in the past, it always had me go down us287 before. of course i took us287.

    Home for a 34.

If I'm really early to my 90, I always go ask the receiving department if it's possible to deliver early, regardless of what the notes say. I probably get unloaded early half the time.

Worst case is that they say no.

On my way to Leesburg, VA.

I know I've been off the grid for awhile, but I've been busy. Early this month I signed some lease papers and I am now the happy L/O of a '15 cascadia. Me and my co-driver are still running with the target dedicated and things are going great.

With my prior business experience and the help of some very generous L/O's here on the forum I feel that we went into this new adventure a little more prepared than most. Still gotta stay on our toes though so we don't get screwed.

I've certainly enjoyed some of the freedoms of being a L/O and I don't really mind the extra headache and responsibility so much (especially on payday).

    BlackBeard and A21CAV Thank this.

so you leased a truck and hired on your co driver? Or you 2 playing as partners with the truck?

I ended up getting off today, when I got back to the dc I asked if he had anything that needed taken care of and he said just a Porterville he had to get covered but it wasnt scheduled to cut for almost another 3 hours but after calling dispatch they got it cut within 45min and I accepted it which helped end my day over 500 miles. He gave me a couple loads for today but while I was waiting he was calling several people asking if anyone wanted to be off since there were not enough loads. I told him I will volunteer after he wasnt getting anyone to volunteer which he didnt believe me at first since I have never volunteered to be off
