Btw, last week, coming off home time, started Monday, got 4400 miles for the week. It cut into this week though, I only got 2600 this week... I do plan on quitting though, in about five years after my wife gets her CDL and we team. Retired by 55 is the plan! I just might beat it by a year our two.

 

I just left, but I still consider con-way to be the best mega carrier out there. I said all along I could only imagine leaving to work for a private fleet or to become an owner op; I've now got my own authority...

That said, I probably would still be there if my miles hadn't fallen off in March & April -- or if the compensation package initially proposed last year hadn't been sent back to the drawing board again (both of which I attribute to the February management change). But to be fair, my miles did pick back up in May and I do expect the compensation package to go through eventually.

 

I have one week of training left before going to orientation in Joplin. I've had the chance to speak with office employees, a former dispatcher who is in training to become a driver, and some of Con-Way's current drivers. I don't give a #### what any internet loser has to say. Con-Way is a good company with a good reputation for treating its drivers fairly and with respect.
