Careful with this one if you don't have a pyrometer to watch EGTs. From what I understand with how an EGR system works, when the EGR valve is closed it results in a cleaner, more complete burn (hence the better fuel mileage), but at the expense of higher exhaust gas temperatures, because the burn is more complete. Don't want to cook a turbo, or worse.

DFO,there was a article in a magazine recently about a compagny that started selling those in the USA.
So you might see them in the future.

ICs are based out of either Charlotte or Green Bay. Not sure how they determine who is based where. I live in Fort Worth, TX, 30 miles from Dallas OC, but I'm based out of Charlotte. Haven't been back there since I got my truck. Always have to watch for the time difference on the Qualcomm LOL.

DFO where did you get your Cummins software and does it just load into your laptop?

eBay (shipped all the way from China!), and yep it installs on the laptop. Keep in mind purchasing any kind of software off eBay means that you'll get the software burned on a CD (NOT the original cd) and then the chinese guy wants you send him a code from the software so he can use a keygen to make you a key (NOT a key purchased from Cummins) that will work to unlock the software. Its some bootleg **** but what more can you expect from China.

Well, just got settled down at the truck stop planning to be here for at least the night, but just found a load that runs up to SC and puts me in a good spot, so looks like I'm gonna be running these hours down to nothing today.

DFO, I don't have an EGT or pyrometer, but as long as I keep my foot out of it I should be OK. I also run very lite loads. I did mash on it once just to see if I still had power or not. Noticed my boost now goes to 32psi versus 28psi prior to the lite coming on. I'm gonna run it like this for about a week then go home and put it in the shop. about $1500 for an EGR valve.

As far as I know, there is nothing that says you can't have an in cab air release. Mine was just slap wore out and it was cheaper for me to leave it off. Now, Schneider doesn't do the replacement or installs depending on the manufacturer of your fifth wheel. They send you to an outside vendor. So, you can get whatever you can afford just as long as the manufacturer is approved by Schneider. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, this was 7.5 years ago.
