I currently live in Groton, CT but I'm giving up and selling everything to get a fresh start and chase a dream like everyone else in this industry. I'm stuck between Being a yanker tanker or a skateboarder but not sure which route I wanna go. Either way I'll make decent money and see America at 65mph. So I'm looking into Prime Inc. since they offer both and switch over shouldn't be to hard to do and not require me to quit my job and go through another companies program. What do yall thInk abut that?
Veteran Newb looking for a decent company.

From bubblehead to skateboarder.... LOL now there's a switch!
Don't know much about prime, but good luck regardless. Sounds like you have a decent plan forming before you get out. -
Let alone a cook bubblehead. If I lease my truck will fly the colors that's for sure

Most companies don't allow cats. I wouldn't mention having a cat.
CTL Transportation allows a rider and one pet.
I love that fresh baked bread the cooks bake on the ships. They used to give me a loaf right out of the oven & I'd stick it under my shirt, but you could smell me going down the passageway. No way to hide that delicious smell.
I started fresh also; moved to Las Vegas last year. Cheap houses and property taxes along with no personal income taxes.
Prime is OK, but their tankers are food grade, not hazmat. The good money is hazmat/tankers. Their flatbed division is OK; real sharp looking equipment. If there's any way to swing a 160 hr. private CDL school, do that and go directly into hazmat/tankers or flatbed such as Melton Truck Lines or one of the hazmat/tanker companies that hire new CDL grads. Melton and some of the tanker outfits have veterans programs. -
So are you saying hide the cat in the truck?
-
Okay, I am confused. Do we really consider Navy guys as veterans? The Air Force does the real fighting and the Army and Marines are the helpers, but Navy?
Actually, my grandfather was Navy and was award the Navy Cross at Guadalcanal.
Any company would be lucky to get you. Just don't work cheap. Working cheap is trucking's equivalent of your turn in the barrel. Welcome to trucking. -

Thanks for your service, not a squid, though I'm a Soldier. Talk to Melton, they may take you in with your CDL and then send you out with a trainer. Did you take advantage of the new law allowing us Vets to get a CDL?

I did use my post 9/11 to get it. No fees
