Thanks, HTQ, for adding me to your prayer time! It is great to have people praying and encouraging me and others. I knew there was something special about you. As Panhandle said, you certainly are a good egg. Praying for the team is a great thing. I pray routinely for George, will add the team also. The support system with fellow truckers is awesome! Thanks to each one of you for giving helpful hints to George. It's heart touching that you help out newbies, as well as one another. You guys rule! Keep it up!!! Oh yes, I know part of the trucking industry is the waiting game. George has a tablet and a hot spot, so he's able to get online to check out the trucking forum, do FB, and play games. He has a laptop, but in his haste to leave Tuesday a week ago, he left his power supply, among other things, at home. Of course, he naps sometimes too!

Just a reminder, especially for our new drivers, Roadcheck 2014 is coming up on June 3,4 and 5. An average of 14 trucks will be inspected every minute. Last year 49.6% of vehicle OOS violations were related to brake adjustment and other brake system violations. They also issued 899 seatbelt violations. If you have not marked the page in your manual that tells them how to access your elogs I would suggest that you do it.....they do not have the patience to wait for you to find the correct page and there is no point in antagonizing them. Mark it with a piece of tape, a paperclip, etc. ....anything that will allow you to flip right to the correct page.

Oh, I also heard ....and haven't been able to verify this, that even being on elogs you are required to have a log book with at least 7 blank sheets, in the event that your elog system would go down....they will be issuing citations.

    FYI
A tip That may help you not get an out of adjustment brake citation .
When you stop ,apply pressure to brake pedal. gently press down till you have applied maximum pressure then hold for about 5 seconds. Then has your holding it you may hear a noise as a brake adjusts its self. Release pedal. Do this with parking brake NOT applied. Takes about 5 seconds to do and may keep you rolling.
Waiting at a scale for the truck in front of you to move, traffic light. Matters not where you do it.
It they were out of adjustment you will notice an improvement in stopping . They will be a little more sensitive.
The new self adjusting slack adjusters DO NOT NEED MANUAL ADJUSTING. If they do the slack adjuster is bad.Get it fixed pronto.

Finished South Florida in short order this morning by 0830. The USA cold storage in Medley was great. Most of them if not all were Cuban so conversed with them in Spanish. I have a feeling I will go back to Fla a lot. Picked up 43000 lbs of orange juice and lemonadefrom the Coke factory in Auburndale, just 20 minutes from where my parents live, in Kissimmee. Tomorrow head to Northern Oklahoma to a Walmart DC Saturday morning. Deuces.

Wow!!! Figured I was going to get screwed today. Only one truck stop in the Grand Rapids area. Was lucky enough to deliver just a 1/2 mile away, rcvr had me in and out in an hour, and there was still plenty of truck parking here. Yea!!!!!!!!!!! Only bummer is, I can't connect to their wifi. Don't know why.
