Living and working relatively close to this situation, I was discussing this with one of the dispatchers at my company this morning. He's lived in PA for a long time, and his opinion was that PA small town cops (like the one involved here) have the intelligence of a gnat. Sure, the driver may have been operating an unsafe truck, but there was a repair facility within sight of the location of the stop, and the cop could have let him move the truck to that location under his supervision rather than issuing an OOS order and calling for an expensive tow.

Where is the dash cam video ?
they didnt say one word about anything like that I seen the word "allegedly" a few times..
There is more .. all police vehicle have dash cams, and I bet it shows what really happened . There just seems to be more. If that cop first off tazed him because of "allegedly being belidgerant" then I would have hit his ### with a hammer too.54Trucker Thanks this. -
Load was a very high value produce load that was hijacked. There is way more to the story. I know the shipper.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
There was majical berries in that trailer.

They probably just wanted a reason to search the truck , s eeings how Bloomsburg is a little one horse town that has more meth then some big cities. -
If he didn't fight me, he would have gotten maybe 20ish with parole being eligible at roughly 15. We gave the Schneider National guy a commendation, and made him an honorary state trooper.tucker and 70s_driver Thank this.

Occasionally someone has so many stimulants in their system they become impervious to pain, causing them not to feel it. Once in ATL an officer shot a guy 6 times unloading the whole chamber on him, and the guy still kept coming towards the cop. The suspect had so much crack in his system he would have been able to supply at least 5 people.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

Ok just making sure you didn't charge the Schneider guy with assault or something. In a stop like that do you think you would have turned up the drugs if he didn't attack you? Or if he was calm and cool would you have just read him the riot and let him go with maybe a citation?NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I honestly don't think I would have been tipped off for the drugs, I might have just read him the riot act and let him go. One thing that might have changed it was my partner and his K9 were coming to give backup ( the GSP partners are guys who work in separate cars), he was roughly 10 minutes out. But if he appeared normal and didn't try to kill me he probably would have gotten away with it.NavigatorWife and Skydivedavec Thank this.

Generally local guys treat highway patrolmen like cow chips, do you want to know what local law enforcement calls the GSP, Gods Special People. Yeah they hate us when it comes to regular duty, but when you need pursuit units, aviation units, or swat units we are the first they call.tucker, NavigatorWife and Skydivedavec Thank this.

That's what I figured. I don't have many interactions with LEOS but when I do I treat them the same way I want to get treated. Seems to work for me. I have a nephew who's a local cop and some of the stuff he tells us I don't know how you can put up with people. Someone's got to do it so thanks. I'm trying to get my son to move south and look for a cop job down there. He just graduated with a CJ degree last year but can't find work in NJ. I told him go south.Skydivedavec Thanks this.
