Well, don't do it at the Flying hook here in Shreveport. Either pull up go in get your ticket right back out and go park for your shopping need's. The employee's are having cop's on hand that are writting steep fine's for parking in the fuel island and they've had enough. We wait in line knowing someone else is behind us and the island is packed. I jump out and do everything as kwikly as possible with slipping and busting my ### on the slick pavement then get in and pull up. With two guy's doing this we can fill up, check fluid's, clean the window's and while I finish up he goes in grab's a couple of drink's if we are going to wait to eat and I'm finished with the hood locked down and pulled forward so the truck behind us can pull in and do his thing.
If I owned my own truck with a cattle gaurd paying everything myself and someone parked in front of me. I'd drop it in gear and push that POS out of the way and I wouldn't give a rat's ###. If he wanted to start #### then let him because I'll just beat his ### with a tire bat until I can't raise my arm's anymore or until he's dead. #### that talkin' #### over the radio. Every time someone talk's #### at us I say where we are and what we are in and I jump out and throw my arm's up to bring your ###. Not one single person has yet to walk up to me. For those who won't do this, you need to keep your mouth shut because after talking the talk and you don't want to walk the walk then I have a whole list of thing's I could call you but it's your ### if I find out who you are.
I'm a hell of a nice guy but don't test me because I am one hot headed high tempered MFer who will go slap off on your ###. Just walk up to you without thought and remove all of your teeth in one hit. Don't do it!
I doubt any of these guy's is anyone here unless you own up to talkin' #### because everyone here seem's really cool to me, but just don't try it because you never know what could happen.
why is it always our fault!!

Now thats a Super Trucker if I've ever heard one.
-
Yea buddy.Might work on some wonder about a heavy hauler with about 150,000lbs.and 10 axles.
-
Yeah, I was listening to a couple of old timers on the CB a couple days back. They were talking about how things used to be and complaining about todays new drivers. Too bad half of what they were saying was pure racist crap. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Listening to some of the old timers I have to wonder how much of 'how it used to be' is the same as walking up hill both ways to school in the snow with no shoes like many apparently had to do as a kid. -
I judge the driver for what he or she does and not what they say. I've criticized new drivers and old drivers as well. The term professional does not mean you're getting paid for a job when it comes to my line of work. I've seen drivers get hired on my company right out of school which is a rarity so it all depends on the person.
If you want to think you know all there is to know about driving a truck then I don't want you next to me. I'm still learning and will never stop. But I will say there's a huge difference in the way the drivers are trained today against the old way.
CDL schools do not teach how to drive a truck. All their goal is to have a person get their CDL and collect the money. Sure there's a few good schools but there's more bad than good. In the old days a experienced driver took you under his wing and taught you everything he knew just to protect his reputation. That is if you kept your mouth shut and paid attention.
There's no doubt the industry has gone down hill. To blame the old drivers is just as stupid as to blame the new drivers. Put the blame where it belongs and that's at the CDL schools and the cheap companies that exploit the foolish drivers.
Stop talking sh-t behind the keyboard or radio and go out and be a professional then maybe the industry would start to change back to being the knights of the road. -
GasHauler, I could not have put it better myself. If we ALL stop b*tching and moaning, and just do our jobs the best we can (and take some pride in a job well done) then things might just get better on the road.
In the meantime, us noobs should not take it so personally; remember, one day we will be the Old Timers. And do you really want to be one of the complainers?
And Skunk truck, calm down. Besides, your profile says you're a student. If you don't get that attitude under control you may end up being a never-was. Think about it. -
They have some driving schools shaved down to nine days. NINE DAYS. A quick study might learn how to do a proper PTI in a week (all the how's and why's), but somehow these schools get you a CDL in nine days.
What's next...."You Too Can Be a Truck Driver" on audio cassette? -
Congrats skunktruck2590. Your the first cyber Rambo I have seen on here, I used to hear them all the time on the radio thats why I run with my cb off 90% of the time.
I suggest you check your attitude at the door. I for 1 am not impressed. Running your mouth on the CB isnt smart either. Some of these fellas would not think twice about shooting you and then going inside to have a cup of coffee.
Grow up and act your age. This aint elementary school. -
Well I am here to back you younger generations up! I see more bilegerant older generations than I do younger. They are the one's set in their ways and won't change for the newer ways
.
It's hard on them I know, but life is about changing!
So it's not just you newer generation. I say it's a fair share of all of you! I have younger generation thinking they know it all to! That refuse to listen. However it seems I terminate more drivers over the age of 40 than I do younger than 40. So take that for what it's worth and turn off the radio Mr Lost Pat!

i came to the conclusion that most super truckers are cry babies and those are the ones usualy hollering on the cb at the truck stop
