Are you going to own that truck in few years as a company driver?
Also if you sacrifice and run more you'll make more... you're forgetting the truck payment you're making - that's $500-600 you're actually making more a week than a company driver. Oh yea and how many more miles are most company drivers running at other companies for that $1k paycheck...?
If people don't take risks they won't have what they want... no one is going to hand you anything on a silver platter.
I said it many times and I'll say it again... A lot of drivers should never be lease drivers or actually owner operators.
If you can't take a risk and don't have any business sense stay a company driver. If you fail, don't give up, learn from your mistakes (Yes, your mistakes, don't make excuses and blame others).
Leasing is not the best way to go to truck ownership but it's a way...

I just delivered at hallmark in Lawrence KS.. Trailer 2270 has been sitting there for 3 days loaded, going to Midland Ga.. drop hook. .850+/- .. hallmark asked me to contact ACT to find out when it's gonna be picked up. . Night dispatch about ripped my head off when I asked. .(wah you had to answer the phone. . Surprised they didn't send out a company wide message about ENTIRELY TO MANY PHONE CALLS! )Last edited: May 30, 2014

Delivered load to Indiana from Mo.
Preplanned on a load Illinois to Tx for Monday. Can deliver early but no reloads till Monday, so ill take my time gettg there total miles this week 2259 -
Sitting at the yard and just got a choice of loads. I took a load from here to Walcott. Pick up by 11pm tonight and deliver @ 8am on Monday. It was the one with the most miles that delivers on Monday. Not a bad week I guess. About 2000 miles and I started it on Wed. Of course I sat on a load over the holiday weekend.

I went home for a week made myself available on Tues got loaded on Wed squeezed in 2259 mi for the week with this Monday delivery.
I hold loads back for the holidays coming up so i still took home 583.56 and had a week off. If you manage your revenue and plan your time off you can spend time at the house still make a truck payment and a paycheck.
ACT lease is a fair handshake its up to you to manage your time and revenue efficiently. You do your job make your deliveries there gonna make sure you can support your family. Time and time again you here people say your a company driver making a truck payment , yep your right i probably am to a point but at the end of 46months i got a title . Everybody says you gotta own your on to make money this is one way to do it , but it take a stable company thats gonna give you the tools that make it possible . Thats where ACT excels
Perfect example Jaguar ran a load to COLORADO put in an MT call no loads in CO. read his post they deadheaded him to McPherson Ks 500mi to keep him moving how many leasing companies would do that . ACT does , the most deadhead i have done personally is 189mi to drop a trl then i Bobtailed another 520mi to pick a load up . The point is they keep you moving . If not they make it up to ya.
Act spreads the wealth among all there drivers just do your job all they ask. Im a 1st yr lease in 24yrs driving its really not that hard . If you can make a Truck payment here there no reason you cant do it week in week out . Yea im a company driver making truck payments i said myself for many yrs . But in 16 months im a owner op with a title .
This is my 3rd yr at ACT . I have never missed a full truck payment yet (3 partial payment no more than 150 at 1 time ).
When i was a company driver i missed alot of chiild support payments. Since being at ACT i have caught up my back support and I havent been behind in my payments since that in itself says alot for me personally.
If your driven to succeed and can set goals and achieve them ACT is the place to be .kkiesznowski, gummie45 and Jaguar115 Thank this. -
Here here, well said!!! Couldn't agree more...

Now we wait for dispatch on Monday. Do it all over again. Its that easy.kkiesznowski Thanks this. -
