I got everything I need, including my out of pocket expenses. Any advice from anyone who went thru their school is greatly appreciated.

The school is a breeze. Getting through training without murdering your trainer will be a little tougher. What follows after, especially at Centrwift....well, expect long hours, lower than expected miles, and low pay. Just keep in mind, Centrwift is a stepping stone....get through at least 6 months with them, keep your nose clean and trucks out of the ditch, and move on to bigger and better companies.

    Good luck!

200? Is that all it is now? If so, that will be enough to eat. Most likely, your trainer will buy you a few meals. Just gut it out, you'll be through with training before you know it.

Im in the "try not to murder your trainer" phase. I find doing the opposite of what i normally would do helps. For instance if i want to strangle him instead i buy him a soda and hotdog. He becomes slightly more tolerable after that and much nicer too. So i find it as a worthwhile expense. Plus he has spent more on me than i on him.

I hear Centrift is basically CR England Jr.

    Any truth to that?

I went to west valley with central.. I 5 years ago. School was fun. I met a lot of great people and made friends. Training was hard. My trainer was a great guy. He kinda lacked in helping me learn to back and slept while I drove from day 1. But I'm still alive, so he must have steered me right. I know you need to study hard and soul search every day your there. If your married with kids or have kids.. Its the hardest thing I ever experienced in my life. It took 5 years but I'm home around 330 nights a year, off holidays. So it was worth it. Good luck as have I have no experience with swiftral.

I trained in West Valley City with Central last year. The school trained me just enough to shift and not curb it while turning. Definitely a CDL mill. I was with my trainer four weeks, and it was a great experience. I still talk to him to this day, as we both worked for JCT for a short while (he's still there, I'm not).

It is what you make it. If you show up on time, focus and learn the material you will at least earn your CDL in 15 days, or whatever it is these days.

Becoming a [successful] truck driver? Well that takes a little bit longer than six weeks. I've been at it a year and there is still a ton for me to learn, so keep that in mind. They do give you all the tools to succeed, it's just up to you to make the most of those tools.

Edit: Here is a day by day account of my time in West Valley.

Best of luck, hope you enjoy the experience.
