At Arnold, I pay about $640mo for family coverage as well as short/long-term disability.
The plans are thru USX. With morr info on ins costs, it helps compare compensation from company to company. What say you?

I've quit trying to keep up with it, but Melton Truck Lines had the best for years, maybe still do. I don't have to deal with that anymore. They also have clinics for the drivers & family members at no additional cost.

Wow. Even after ObamaDontCare?Chinatown Thanks this.
-
That's what they advertise!

I've got roughly the same plan as Chinatown posted, but without the clinics at the terminals. BCBS of TN thru Big G Express. I pay $109 per week for myself and two kids (no wife currently or in the foreseeable future). But, we don't get out to OKC too often. We mostly stay east.

That reads like coverage too good to believe...?! $1500 will cover 1 crown, maybe.Puppage Thanks this.

That's the crux of the matter. Just about nothing is "affordable" anymore. Good for Melton (I mean that), but "affordable" health insurance is fast becoming an oxymoron.
I'm telling y'all; a smart big carrier that wanted a REAL competitive edge in recruiting would look at increasing the employer's contribution to a real solid health plan and getting the employee's contribution back down to what it was years ago. I mean I'm shopping for a company and this one offers me 3 cpm more but this one's health plan is $50/ week for a real good plan that makes me compliant with Obamacare? Guess where I'm going?
Food for thought. -
I say you're not getting anything better than catastrophic coverage from anyone, anywhere.
But your premiums subsidize the golden 100% coverage with $0 deductibles and co-pays of your corporate officers to make up for it... so you got that going for you. -

Wow I hope they are paying you well to be paying all that money on insurance. This is from my last stub and I have Family medical which is only 61 a week. JBS Carriers -
Almost all the companies offer health plans, unfortunately none of them are worth much anymore. The insurance companies have rigged the game now. What everyone needs to look at are your deductible cost. High deductibles mean you pay for most of your healthcare upfront and pay your premiums also. Just having so called health insurance does not mean you will get any decent healthcare. Most healthy people the cost is about 500 a year for doctors visits and medication. Most new healthcare policies deductibles are 500 to 5000 depending on the amount of coverage you are willing to pay for. Also for a person on a limited income (truck drivers) the choice has to be made whether you are sick enough to spend that money on the deductible. Unless you have a catastrophic illness your healthcare premium are only going to the insurance companies. The upfront cost of insurance maybe cheap, but the cost if you need care can be quite expensive and do not expect help from the insurance company until you reach that deductible.
