I was wondering & thinking how itbis to be a Prime tanker driver I was debating between Schneider & prime *tankers division* prime just pays more at 44cpm but I kind of question what good is the cpm if youll do a lot of consistent sitting instead of rolling the wheels. the main only advantage I know Schneider has I believe is more miles & the trucks sre faster then prime

Honestly depends on what your comfortable pulling. From what I've read, haven't worked for either company, Prime only does food grade tanker work. Schneider advertises that 2/3 of their tank loads are non hazardous. From what I read and drivers I've talked to both are good companies and have good training programs. If I had to make the decision I'd go with Prime. Trucks and tanks look like they're in better condition and maintained better. 62 mph vs 60 mph. What's the difference, it sucks going slow and both are making you go slow.

Glad to hear that oneshyne. Did you go the company driver route or did you become a lease operator? Did you go with Prime or Schneider?

Just judging from the Newark to Union City load, I'd say he went to Prime. I ran that load a few times. And based on 'we', he's probably in training. And lastly those long loads seem to typically go to lease drivers, who are paid on percentage.

    Pharroh336 Thanks this.

Good luck oneshyne. Hope all goes well. If you don't mind, post an update when you have free time. Prime Inc Tanker definitely has me intrigued and curious to see how it goes. Thanks.

sorry for the delay Pharroh its going good so far. but its sad to say a few of prime trainers *mostly all of them are L/O don't deserve to be trainers. I unfortunately have 1 of the coolest trainers 1 of the fellow students that started with me that went to reefer. he got basically scared out of the company sad to say by his trainer. I kept telling him to tell the fleet manager they won't know anything unless students say something. his trainer told him to sleep on the top bunk while the truck was in motion. then he gonna tell him if you mess up my gears its coming out your paycheck it was just unacceptable. so he got a trip ticket to go home & never came back to the company. but yea ill tell anybody if you happen to get a dk for a trainer request to switch trainers. but because im new I don't recall if I said this but I gotta do 40K miles. at the end of this training theyll make sure you know how to load & unload properly.
