Nice lookin' ride, but WAYYYYY too many miles w/o some major engine work. And while I'm whining, WTF is up with the manual crank window (on the driver's side)? Maybe I'm just spoiled, but for that kind of moolah, it should have power windows on BOTH sides!
I'd like your opinion on this truck...

-
man... I'm gonna have to look you up if I ever buy another petercar! -
I am thinking the same thing! I just happend to have Carfax when I bought my Petercar and I ran it, but I didn't tell you stuff like that!

Nice truck! But I have to agree with a number of these posts. Those miles are scary. The one and only experience that I ever had with a C-16 was in a Kenny that I drove regional flatbed with. The thing ran great, but every once in a great while, while going down the road at a constant 65-70 mph, it would stutter. Almost felt like it shut down for a second and then would re-start. I mentioned it to the boss, and he said Cat had looked at it, but of course it didn't do it for them. I'm not saying they're all like that, but it is a little concerning when you're out on the road. But other than that, that is a good looking truck!

Well Let Me Put It This Way, Are You In A Buisness Or A Truck Show?with Fuel At 4 Dollars A Gallon How Many More Miles A Year Will You Have To Run In Order To Off Set The Differance Of 5 Miles Per Gallon Versus 7 Miles To The Gallon. If The Company You Lease To Has An Excellent Fuel Surcharge That Helps But If You Can Save The Money How Happy Would Your Wife Be With A Vacation Instead Of Putting It Up The Stack. However In The End You Are The One Making The Payment To Each His/her Own.

Bottom line is, new vs. new. On that fine paccar product there the man will be able to come home, yes at 5mpg unless he runs midwest he can get 7 out of it i do with mine in the midwest, shut his doors and not have to worry about anything untill hes ready to go back out, check coolant and oil and hit the road..... Tell me thats the case with mack or volvo, i know you will because you praise what you drive but we all know it just aint true!
-
Thats odd I have drove A few C15s never cracked manifold R turbo. Not thats many C16s As for the C18 Cat does not make these yet.And 7 MPG you wish.
-
I have cracked plenty of them, yes CAT is and has been making C18s, they are not a truck engine..... I get 7mpg on flat ground rolling 62mph through IL all the time in my KW.... I get 5-5.2 out west over the hills.
-
At previous company in dry van division they removed from service 40 KW900B with CAT engines because of awful MPG-4.6 average in 3 years,at same period Western Star's with Mercedes engines averaged 6.7 and Volvo's with VED12 averaged 6.9MPG.
