I work for Great Plains, absolutely love it here I feel it's more kickback than Holland everything is pretty much the same. Mike is the owner not the recruiter. Everything else is pretty much the same there just relatives. The only differences is Hollands recruiting is three days,atGreat Plains it's just a couple hours and you're out on the road

God I hope this bus ride goes a lot smoothly than the last one. I was going to Conway (CFI) in Joplin and this ride was all sorts of fubar. The bus was 2 hours late for pickup. Had to sleep on the floor at the first transfer in Tallahassee because there were no buses available and had to get on the first bus to come that had room going east. So at the next transfer place (can't remember the city) I was supposed to get on a bus going to Shreveport so I asked one of the workers there and I got on the bus indicated. By this time I was exhausted and I fell asleep only to wake to the driver saying "Welcome to Orange Texas". I was all like. WHAT???? Had to continue to Huston, transfer for Dallas, at Dallas transfer to OKC then finally arrive in Joplin at 2am on Tues. A 2 day bus ride turns into 4 days.

Mike is the Son of Robert the real owner behind Great Plains and Mike is a real crank yanker in my opinion. Bob is good people I believe.

That's what I'm saying. It could be a life-changing experience or you could get PTSD. If you didn't have to take a drug test when you got there, I'd say to get a handful of Valium and take to the friendly skies. You might just consider trying to do it. Drink some wine or something.

Not sure how much more laid back you can get. I get load info, and a fleet message once every couple weeks, and that's all I ever hear from them. That's the best part of this company.

Does gp have their own dispatch?

Im with you Tex, if Holland were anymore laid back i would check to make sure there still breathing. I know very little about the blue side so i can't comment on them as for Holland, there is no better people atleast thats how i feel. They have treated me very well in the 5 years i have been with them. I have no problems with dispatch, safety or the shop Richard & Denzil both has always treated me right . The only thing i can say to the new ones coming in is do your job, take the good runs with the bad ones (there is many more good then bad) and talk to them like you want to be talked to, Don't tell them what you think they should do, i find that if you talk right to the Holland team you will do just fine . Good luck all. I never post just read but really felt like letting people know how good i think Holland is.
