I have financed lots of repairs. A friend of mine even managed to finance a good portion of an overhaul. But if you don't ask they can't approve you. I have finance $2500 repairs and many lower cost repairs. It's a good deal for you and Landstar because they make money on the deal too.

Ya I had to replace an EGR valve and cooler. I could afford the repairs but only one part so Landstar gave the money for the EGR cooler and took it out of my settlements for 6 weeks. I have a business AMEX now to cover repairs but its always nice to know I can call Landstar if I get into a major pinch.

How do you send in your paperwork to landstar? Can you use efax? I should be in orientation this month. Also does anyone have a freightliner with a cat 15 engine?

Yeah you can use efax but which department are you sending the paperwork? I usually use transflo for paperwork for my loads and there is an app that you download for your computer or phone to upload and send in paperwork. But if you are sending paperwork to necome qualified to lease on then you will needto fax to that specific department. Call them, get the fax number or email address, send the documents, and then call them back to make sure they got it. Trust me, you must call them back to make sure they get the stuff you are sending or they will claim the didn't get it and you will fax four times. I call them and tell them I am sending a fax, then send it, then call them back to make sure they got it. If you don't do this you will be waiting for weeks wondering what is going on and when you call they will say they never got it. I have been here for 14 years and their ability find stuff you send seems to be impaired. Email may be preferable because they can look that up on a computer. Otherwise I am guessing they have to dig through a pile of paper at the fax. Which is why you call right before and after so they can be right there when you send it.

I use the direct scan application for getting paid but my 120 day and anything else I just scan on my computer and send it to the appropriate email address. Most Landstar employees are helpful on giving you the correct email address but getting a reply is a whole different story.

Yeah direct scan for load paperwork and use the appropriate email address for other things. But if you have to fax, do yourself a favor and call. I used to only call after I faxed but now it seems I have to call to give them prior warning of an incoming fax. It is maddening but Landstar has it's quirks.
