I clicked on this expecting praise. I've been to KS twice and had an easy time. Showed up a day early and they unloaded me. Having a holding lot. They did have bathrooms for truckers last time I was there (sure you were trying the right entrance? They're a lumper facility, so they have to have a place for you, the unloader, to wash up, etc when working). And paying a lumper fee? You have less than 1yr experience. Your company pays it.
And they bring you your paperwork. As said, that's so much better than "watch for the green light" or even worse "We'll call you on the CB".

king soopers in denver is better than many others... they have a staging area. So many don't, so you can't show up early. 2 hour unload, that is quick for king soopers. They bring you the paperwork, means I can sleep, or do other things, instead of checking for that stupid light to change... or try and listen for a static filled cb...
The op has a lot of experiences to enjoy in this industry. -
King Sooper is Kroger, no lumper fees at Kroger. There is a hotline to call if you were charged
-
Since when? Kroger in Houston charged me 135 to take off six pallets and wouldn't start until they had check in hand

Welcome to trucking and grocery DC.

KS in Denver has 5 facilities, I'm curious as to which one the OP was at. The dry/GM plant on Tower rd are sticklers for the tandems being slid. There is a porta potty and that's it for drivers to use. Last time I was there, a few Sunday's ago, they were being sticklers about idling, something they have never done before. We've been unloading there for years, Tower Rd. is probably the worst one to unload, the bakery or meat on So. Tejon are good places to unload.

The one in Aurora, CO

Count your blessings fellas... KS in Denver is a well-run facility compared to any of the C&S warehouses on the east coast. Trust me, there is much, much, MUCH worse than KS.

Yea, I got that from all the replies to this post. I think I'm the only one who complained.

Got news for you IronPony, C & S are moving south and west. I've heard about them in Alabama and have been to the one in Stockton, CA. It's like a cancer spreading......
