Have no clue about the states/federal laws about this. Worked with a fella couldn't speak and had 2 gigantic hearing aides. Great co-worker, Impossible to contact while he was on jobs. He lip read everyone. Dang fine driver, Always kept a note pad/pen with him.

    NO!!! Don't do THAT!!! :biggrin_25512:
    Not the photo!!
    :biggrin_2552:
Remove ANYthing else, HaiL, Remove EVERYthing else,
    EXCEPT the photo.

God creates beauty, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Let NOone abscond the face of natural beauty from mine eyes,
for I, Shakey AfterShock, am a true beholder and appreciator
of all thangs beautiful and naturally wholesome and purely perfect.
The photo in question contains all of the above mentioned qualities.
    Surely it
would be a crime to remove the photo, and thereby deprive me of due process, ---
    or sumthin'.

    QUICK!
Somebody read me my rights, --- see if I'm wrong.

    Beauty is as beauty does
    And Beauty Does belong
Right where these eyes have found it.
Prominently displayed where mine eyes can gaze upon it

Unhealthy people can be a MAJOR liability for a trucking company. I just barely got my last medical card, so I lost weight and exercised and now I'm fine. Its not the Doctors or my companies problem that I willfully chose to get fat and unhealthy. I was also a pre diabetic which I'm now not. Should the company wait for somebody to pass out Behind the wheel and kill a bunch of people?

BMI is an antiquated measure of whether you're overweight. Good grief I have a 34" waist but according to my BMI I'm "overweight" now how stupid is that? The body building community have a much more accurate way of measuring your fat content in the body, and body mass but as usual the Govt isn't interested in any kind of accurate assessment. They're just very slow to change.

BMI isn't antiquated, idiots that think a height vs weight equation tells them a BMI are the problem. Caliper is the ONLY way to get it normally, unless you want to get dipped in the water tank.

Tell that to the medical community, and the FMCSA. That's what they use, and it is what it is. You may not like it, but that's what we get to put up with.

One of my co-workers is a linehaul driver who can't drive our old L model Fords because he can't fit behind the steering wheel.

I've seen plenty of men with 34" or so waists, but 45" or more 'dunlop' hiding their belt buckle!
While BMI may not be accurate, it's a starting point and easy to calculate.
Getting fat is easy and it sneaks up on you.
Look at what we face each day we go into a truck stop...pastries, sweets, fried foods, and more. And it all tastes good too!
Staying fit when you're out on the road is not easy for most of us. But it's a must, especially as the industry moves towards these standards.
When I had my company, my insurance rates varied according to the employee's BMI. They charged more the higher the index above NORMAL WEIGHT. The numbers increased exponentially the higher the BMI. I paid the base cost and made the employees pay the additional costs. I was amazed how some of them were able to lose significant weight.
When it costs people directly, it's amazing what can be done.
It's up to us to stay healthy. But I also support a person's right to be fat if they wish...to the point where they don't risk my business, life or someone elses.

    mje Thanks this.

It's amazing how somebody can twist what I said about my waistline and TRUE measure with an implication that my real waist measure is much higher. Come on driver, just because YOU can't claim a slim waist, doesn't mean to say others can't achieve it. I just take care if myself. It hasn't been easy but to say I may have 45" hidden away somewhere is ridiculous. Stop tarring folks with the same brush.
