And give it time. Could be frustrating at first. You may get a little bit of separation anxiety at first. It might seem like your traveling to another planet. But over time the states seem to shrink as you become more and more familiar. Your frame of reference will change. Over time you may get a new truck with more comforts. Then more per mile and you will reach for your map less and less. You will become more effective and efficient. The list goes on.

Give it 6 months and you will see some differences for the better.
You see, a person enjoys their work more as they become good at it. It instills a greater sense of pride and satisfaction. Good luck!

Now that's REAL. Thanks and I'm looking forward to it. Working in getting my TWIC and Passport now. Trying to add to my tool box.

You might want to wait on the TWIC credential until you get on with a carrier.

If you're not going into the ports, you don't need it. There's no guarantee that you'll get on with any specific carrier starting out... while you may really desire to hire on with Prime (and most likely you'll get in a seat here) it's always possible that for some reason you'll end up somewhere else. Somewhere else may not even go near a shipper that requires a TWIC card. Wait until you need it.

This is the type of feedback along with others that I need. I really appreciate it. It's great to hear that another Soldier set out on faith, in his 40's, and is living the dream. I'm on my way! Thanks and hope to see you out on the Road!

I spent my 51st birthday at the Campus Inn studying for my CDL Learners. Prime has been absolutely awesome for me. I retired from the Navy in 1997, worked in property management and maintenance management till I got layed off with the NASA cutbacks. I don't get to fish as much, but I love this job and the company. Oh yeah, I am also an instructor now, I have had ten students.
