Did you have it converted to be used as an 11 meter radio.
-
What this guy said. If not, stop - do not pass go - do not collect $200 - get it frequency converted before you key the mic a single time; otherwise you are operating in territory that you must hold a license to operate in. (i.e. 10-meter ham band)
-
No the radio has no been converted I bought it off amazon also. I just have sitting here at the house.

They need to be converted to operate on cb band. If you aren't good with precise soldering, I would have a shop do it. The antenna will work fine with the radio. I have the 655. I haven't set mine up in my truck yet. I had mine converted and a peak and tune and it pushes 85-90 watts barefoot.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to look for cb shop here in Miami

It shouldn't be too expensive either. The place I got my radio from did the conversion and peak and tune for $40.
-
It should be able to be opened up using the free software.

I bought this radio thinking I could just plug it and play with it like any other radio, but it has becomed a project itself lol I really appreciate the info guys.

Http:// cbtricks.com has conversion instructions.
I think there's just on resistor that has to be removed.
The board in the radio is all surface mount and I think that resistor is pretty tiny.
So, unless you're pretty handy with a soldering iron, I'd have a shop do it.
