I had the outside driver side rear trailer tire blow a few weeks ago. Had the right amount of air and I pretripped that morning. The blowout was on the inside sidewall. So, there may have been a bulge that I missed in the dark that morning. Also made me poop a little. It was 25 miles ahead to the next truck stop and 12 miles back. I decided to wait there for service instead of risk limping that far. 2 hrs later I was on my way. Was way out in western Nebraska. Beautiful country but pretty remote....
Tire blew next to me...

a tire blows when its full of air
if its low, it just fades into powder, without making a sound -
High speed blow outs can go from bad to worse at times. Lost 3 tires on a set of duals once. Blow out tire took 2 more out. Yeah it was a NASCAR show behind me on the freeway. Tailgating is prolly the most common dangerous driving habit out there. If a tire goes at highway speeds.........think about it. Most people don't have a clue. Too bad some of them are so called professionals. It's Friday ever clown in town is out there,be safe.

Wait till you get one of Conway's super singles to go kaboom in front of you as you go bye.
Scrimp bad on tires...ride em till they blow.
Bang is no contest
Like shell artillery -
Were you in a car?

Several years back I was going by a truck shop that set about 200 years off the highway. The whole front of this shop was open on this very hot day. Right in front of this shop my right read outside trailer tire blew out. To me it sounded like a shotgun just went off, now I did not know it was a blow out until I got to my destination about 3 miles down the highway.
About a week later I was talking to a truck friend & he told me I nearly scared him & everyone else to death. His truck was in that shop when my tire blew out & he was standing by the mechanic working on his truck. He said it sounded like a bomb went off in the shop, & everyone jumped up & started running for the doors. He was the only one that looking towards the road when it happen realizing the big boom was a truck tire blow out.
Quite amazing how loud some blowouts are, & it can be dangerous to be behind a truck that has a blowout. Several years ago i was behind a truck that blew out a trailer tire. I was quite a ways behind it & for a moment I thought a big chunk of it was going to come though my trucks windshield, it hit the pavement right in front of me. I can still see that big chunk coming towards me. -
Happened a month or so ago, all I remember was looking over at other driver and we both had that "I hope it was your truck look", it was his.

I'm glad I was there (since we weren't in an accident), as now I understand the force involved. Helps build a healthy respect. I will certainly be sharing the story with family to make sure nobody "cruises" beside a truck needlessly.nofilter and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Had one last March in Utah on 80. Sounded to me like a box fell from inside the trailer, until I saw pieces of tires in the rear view.
It would be safe to say LE doesn't expect us to go retrieve those pieces, right? -
nofilter and sherlock510 Thank this.
