    That's not orientation. That's training.

And before anyone gets on their soap box in this regard, even if we all agree to disagree that alcoholism and drug abuse is a disease, he made the choice to get in a vehicle and drive knowing he was intoxicated. That is NOT a disease, that is reckless decision making. Also, if he was caught and given a DUI on two occasions, it probably means he got away with it 200 times! Just sayin'

The soapbox thing is funny considering its what you just did. But please do let us know when you get your MD or PsyD, until then, speaking with authority on medical issues is just being foolish lol.

As an aside, poor decision making seems symptomatic of drug use, otherwise a person wouldn't have taken drugs in the first place, no?

All the more reason not to validate addiction as an excuse.

post hoc ergo propter hoc is a rhetorical fallacy not a logical one. Free country man, if you want to think your opinion is more relevant than a medical finding, by all means... But, rhetorically speaking, if I opine that putting a bucket of turds into an oven makes a casserole, well you probably get the point.

Stop posting about crap you don't understand.

Post hoc is indeed a logical fallacy, and YOU sir, are the one that opened the door to my post by suggesting the behavioral tendency of poor choices resulting in drug use in the first place.

If beginning drug use is a poor choice (which I do not argue), then it shows a long time pattern of poor choices which indicates that person has no business endangering the lives of others.

Sigh...felons getting second chances. I don't smoke, drink and have never done drugs, including pot but can't get any job offers because of my MVR. Had a fix-it ticket that I complied with but clerk never processed. Several months later when po-po pulls me over for burned out taillight he informs me my license has been suspended so I get a ticket for driving with suspended license. Court fixed the ticket and DA dismissed the license issue but the suspensions remain on my record. No DUIs, accidents or moving violations, just stupid entries that can't be removed. Perhaps I'd be better off if I was a bank robber with a clean MVR.
