If it was a contractor's truck, I'm sure the WalMart CEO would have pointed that out quickly along with his condolences, and we'd have seen another quote from said contractor's spokesperson.

Hi Marksteven, as long as human beings operate these things, it ain't never gonna stop. Another fatality drug testing prevented, NOT!

Everyone goes to blame the ELogs. How about blaming the worthless "drivers" that cause these wrecks??? There are a lot of drivers on E-Logs that manage just fine. Maybe it's not computer error after all.

Kind of what I was thinking; I'm sure more will come to light in the following days. And, surely, if blame can be assigned, it will be...

This will be an interesting thing to find out.

The EOBR will be accurate, so the log cannot be the issue, unless he was saying he was in sleeper while watching it being loaded or something illegal like that.

But, to many, the machine is the ruler. It tells him the hours are there. Many companies operate that when the box says drive, the driver must. They want the maximum return out of the truck. No captain of the ship with companies like that.

So, if his internal clock gets messed up and could not rest, guess what. The box said you were ready to run. But in reality, you were a tired trucker.

Could the EOBR be at fault. Yes, because many companies are using them to regulate the driver.

Many other companies do not and let the driver run the right way with them.

Yup. Get ready to open your wallet bill. They don't care about your private jet coming to put out your company's fires in Jersey, Bill.

I think in this country you are innocent until you
go to court and are convicted by a judge or a jury.
The media is famous for getting the facts wrong or distorting the truth. Looks to me like a lot of people have already found the Wal Mart driver guilty and they havent even completed the investigation yet. Justice American Style.....
