I'm on my way to Fargo. I'm currently at the Tallahassee terminal waiting to board the bus for my next transfer in Atlanta. They have me going the long way, Atlanta to Chicago to Minneapolis to Alexandria, MN and finally to Fargo. And a lovely 8 hour layover in Chicago. YEAH. Yah that was sarcasm.
Bumper Thanks this. -
Good grief. I understand everyone has their reasons, but I wouldn't make that trip for a trucking job as an experiencd driver. Keep an eye on your luggage transfers. Good luck! I'm sure it will all be fine.

You don't want to get in a pattern of going to Kennet Square. I've been in that twilight zone before. It's not a bad place once you learn how they are. But no parking around there except on site or a diner about 10 miles away. And most the loads coming out of there are multi stop. I have been there a lot but not recently.

Yup, mine was a multi drop, but when you drop @ Elkton,MD there probably isn't much of a choice really...mine dropped in Wally-hell in Robert,LA...possibly one of the WORST run Wally-hell DC's I have ever been to!!!! Arrived @ gate as I said before 1615 (my appt. time) and left close to 8 hrs later....oh well!!!

Gotta love Brokered freight.....get done nice and quick at pretty much Downtown Rochester, NY in a pretty good time and my next load is out of North East,PA to San Marcos,TX (A dreaded H.E.B. grocery DC...only been to one of those one time and don't care to go back again!) so I call the broker and ask him if there is overnight parking there as I am going to be out of hours....sure no problem....yeah, ok! Of course there is none!! So to nearest T/S and take my break and reutrn here in the am (1am to be precise...) and expecting to be here a while!!!! Oh well!!

OK, I don't do this, but I would heartily recommend an app for Smartphones (Android don't know about iPhone or others..) it is called Waze and has saved me around 2 hours traffic time this past week. It is a GPS/Traffic type app takes up very little room and also very little data and almost all the traffic is user generated and the best thing is if you run up against something that somebody else has put in then you click 'not there' and it goes away! While not oriented to trucks, obviously, it is a very useful tool as you can see traffic ahead of your route and it is FRESH....coming down I71 today I saw there was a hold up of close to an hour I detoured around it via OH72,US22 and OH73.....all nice and fast roads and saved a whole bunch of time. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waze

Totally checking it out.

The new Google Maps does all of that.

I have been using Waze for the last 4 months and I love it!
