They're deer guards, nothing more. They do nothing for an animal larger than a deer, or any kind of impact with another vehicle. To open the hood, you just pull a couple of pins, and they swing down.

And, to think that all along, I thought they were spacers for drafting. No wonder why everyone's been getting pissed at me.
Stile Thanks this. -
Those Missouri dear must be real short. Don't look like they will protect you from anything but a small dog impact.

Ya don't need a moose killa to protect against small dogs, deer and texting morons.

I was in Pittston sawing wood when I was shaken awake by a guy who was trying to wiggle a truck out of a spot in the bobtail lot. The damage was limited to a small ding on the deer guard.

They call them deer guards but they are really low. If the deer lost its legs below the knee and was walking instead of leaping across the road they might be ok.

I nailed bambi last May... it only damaged the air dam, and the very lowest part of the hood around the left headlight. Didn't need any work on the hood or headlight, although the fiberglass is cracked in one place. If I'd had a deer guard on, I most likely wouldn't have sustained any damage. For round 2, I'm packin'... got a deer guard installed. Only deal is I'm heavier on the front end, and I really don't need any more weight up there.
