I heard he had sold Jervic then after Jervic closed down he started New Century then sold it as well. Supposedly the companies doing business with them didn't trust the new owners and that was when the downfall started.
We were suppose to bring our truck back to Jersey today but our freight manager called and said to stay put because they weren't able to approve fuel for the trucks. I hate that the company went south
Our freight manager was awesome and she's still looking out for us as best she can under the circumstances.
New Century off to a good start

The letter appears to state:
This is to notify you that, due to unforeseeable and dramatic changes in business circumstances beyond its control, New Century Transportation Inc., (NCT or the Company) expects that it will permanently shut down its operations at all of tis facilities, including the facility located at 45 East Park Drive, Westhapmpton, New Jersey and will terminate all its employees.
The unforeseeable need to shut down operations arose when NCTs leader recently and unexpectedly declined to continue finding regular business (illegible). NCT immediately took steps to seek financing and other alternatives, including a sale of all or part of the company, and in order to continue its pertains, but to date, its efforts have been unsuccessful.
NCT will file for relief under Chapter 7 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. NCT reasonably believes that it could not provide earlier or advanced notice of the shutdown, because such advanced notice would have (illegible) NCTs ability to secure alternative finances of a sale of the company. The following information is provided to you in accordance with the provision of the Worker Adjustments and Retaining Notification Act (the WARN Act) and the New Jersey Millville Dallas Airmotive Plant Job Loss Notification Act.Attached Files:

That's the letter that was sent to all of the employees and of course it arrived the same day that all of the drivers were told to report back to Westampton. Some of the drivers my husband talked to were not told that they no longer had jobs. Some found out what was going on when they tried to fuel or use their Com data cards. Others found out from other drivers. We were lucky that our dispatcher told us after my husband was unloaded and still only 30 minutes from home. We had heard from others that there were many drivers looking for a way home from the yard in Jersey.

If he's a half hour from home he should bring the truck home and let them come get it. Or something. -
He came home yesterday and has been waiting to hear where they want him to drop off the truck. The question has come up while talking to other drivers whether or not a company that doesn't exist can tag your DAC report for abandonment.
We're hoping they want him to take the truck to Richmond or Charlotte. At least then he would only be 4 hours from home instead of 8 and I could follow him in our car so he would have a way home.
its already almost 10 am and we haven't been able to get anyone on the phone to tell us what they want us to do. -
Sorry to hear this. I hope everything works out. -
It looks like the founder stepped down a couple years ago as well. -
