First question is what field do you want to work in? What work is abundantly available around you?

Have talked with Bruce Oakley. End Dumps Pay average of $1.70 loaded $1.50 empty.Thats one for starters.
Others around here would be dry van,not opposed to any thing as long as it pays the bills.

LOL Not sure what the no,no,no means on Trucks for you Orangepicker

Tired of the BS with Company's,seems I have picked some real winners the last 3 years.
And yea I know Bs every where you go,But going to put up with it might as well be paid better.
And want to get to the point in a few years with a paid off truck and Authority so i can kinda go into Semi Retirement. If theres such a thing any more.

You will face the same BS as before. Only now you have your own expenses to cover. The bank does not give a rats back side whether or not the company you are leased to screwed you around and put you on runs you hate/no miles (if paid mileage) or generally crappy loads.

The ONLY reason to buy your own truck is to make more money for the time you spend working. Why else accept the risk of breakdowns, of truck payments (what if you get hurt/sick and can't drive?), having enough money to float all of this?

SO what you need to do is look at however much you are making as a company driver now, then figure what amount you would be happy with as an owner operator. If you are making say 70k now, why on earth would you want to own the truck so that at the end of the day you can take home 35k? Lots of people do it just like this!! But they are a "big time owner operator!" Now, if you want to earn roughly 100k, just as an example, this is your FIRST expense when you are drawing up your business plan.
