Roper or Morgan. That's why maintaining that dang huge following distance is so critical to make habit.

If you're averse to anyone being near your front, you're far more sensitive to closing on slowing/stopped traffic at a greater distance, at least in my experience. I "follow" vehicles 1/2 mile or more ahead. Sure, motorists come and go encroaching on my following distance, but there's always plenty of room, and I rarely have to adjust unless they gang up on me.

Objects approaching head-on (/) offer only an apparent change in size as a clue to the rate of closure, and that rate of change is NOT linear, as people expect. A not-so-great example would be those race cameras peeking over the wall; the cars approach more slowly then seem to suddenly jump past the camera.

EVERYBODY gets distracted, and everybody has had to brake hard to avoid crashing into slow or stopped traffic. There just is no substitute for more following distance.

There is a picture on this forum of the special limo that was used and it has seat belts. Even planes have them. Ambulances have them. Firetrucks also.

The only similarity is both accidents involved a Walmart truck and a fatality. Should I be outraged at the car backing up on the freeway or the collision avoidance system on the Walmart truck that may contributed to the driver's death?
