Considering you being a new driver,I think what you're making is good.Whether Canada or the states, you're not going to find any better.

.40/mile for no experience is pretty good actually. You want more? Gonna have to earn it.

yes, by getting wise and realizing you are in an industry with folks 20+ years driving experience and not really better off. look at the cars fellow truck drivers have in the yard- old beaters unless they made it in another industry and got into trucking afterwards. any fool can be brought in from overseas and do the same job for less, and you think you are going to compete ? you think you are so much better, to be paid that much more ? you are discovering the lies behind the industry...the reality is as you see it. you will gross more if you spent the same amount of time behind the counter at tim hortons or macdonalds. truth.

if you want to make more, you take your license and experience and take it to another industry that uses drivers

Within 4 months of getting my license I was getting $0.50 a mile plus $21 a pick up and drop. Average over $2200 take home every 2 weeks. Look at multi axle steel hauling. Won't get so far from home. Pays better. Stay away from Locomote they pay garbage. Contrans is a good place to look at.

What does the kinda car you drive got to do with anything. I drive an old beat up Ford rust bucket because I leave mine parked at the yard exposed to weather.

I have 2 new vehicle, my house nearly paid for, put 2 kids through college and had a lot of good vacations.

While trucking has its downside, I am grateful for the opportunity.

The implication was that if I drive a beat up car I'm a horrible truck driver. What does that have to do with it? Just because I don't own an expensive car I want to expose to the Ohio weather doesn't mean I can't handle a rig. I'm glad u got those things but don't judge me on the lack of what I got when I'm starting all over from scratch
