Denying a drug screen immediately after an accident can give the impression of guilt. Just shut up and do what they ask.

When I was in my fatal accident, about 15 minutes after I got to the hospital, the local police showed up, informed me that I had been in a fatal accident, (Which I figured, I drove through a car. ) and had me take a breathalyzer and pee test. They also said they knew the type of drivers we had and knew it wasn't going to be a problem and that this was also to protect me against the people that had run into me. I was given a copy of the breathalyzer test immediately following to show I was 0.0.

That wasn't his twitter account, probably some anti-trucking group. Just like Mothers Demanding Action leaving a loaded gun in the toy isle of a Target store.

I'd like to mention that if you are ever asked to take a "lie detector" or polygraph test, you should refuse. The reason is simple, lie detector tests are NOT scientifically verified to actually be able to detect deception.

The American Psychological Association feels so strongly about this they have an entire web page devoted to getting the word out that there is NO experimental research that has verified they work:

    http://www.apa.org/research/action/polygraph.aspx

Basically a polygraph test depends almost entirely on the interpretation of the tester. Research I've seen puts it at about 50/50 that they can detect deception OR indicate that you are deceptive. Would you want to go up against an "expert" that gave you a polygraph test and said in his/her opinion you were lying? You would have a 50% chance of that happening if you went in and told the truth.

The entire polygraph industry is built on one thing: lobbying. From the federal government on down they have convinced enough politicians to budget for polygraphs. It's seen in movies and television shows and the general public believes it's for real. It's all a fraud. Quack science.

Don't ever consent to take a polygraph test.

I know at least NJ has an "implied consent" law. Part of our law for having a license is that we agree to take a test any time the cop wants to give one. If not, we can actually lose our license. Every state has their own laws about stuff like this.

Wrong. We're talking about making mistakes, not malicious acts like selling drugs.

if me doing the "right thing" by extending apologies to an injured person is just a mistake, no problem

but i was told by a mega and it was repeated here, not to show any remorse or sorrow towards the injured person because some lawyer may use that against you

and that isnt a mistake, that is willingly objectifying the situation, and as i said, we are losing what little humanity we have with this approach

Negative. You have a right to demand a BLOOD ALCOHOL TEST, which is considerably more accurate than a breathalyzer, ESPECIALLY if they haven't calibrated it, or cleaned it with an alcohol swab (DO YOU GET MY MEANING??)

And if you are required to take a drug screen, that's a blood test as well, tho I think that requires a court order still, where in most states a blood alcohol test is automatic on demand of such.
