Why do you keep going back and calling JB Hunt if they continually dink you around? Just quit doing business with them. You may be surprised at many of the smaller brokerages/carriers who are looking to do business with small trucking companies just like you who can provide the highest level of service and communicate, deliver it on time without any problems.

The fatal error that you keep making is to let the broker dictate the rate, are you asking them for their rate? If so, stop doing this. Determine what your rate is prior to calling them, and when you call and they give you the load details be prepared to quote them YOUR rate, whatever you do, don't ask them for the rate....

Yep. JB has been on my "no loads" list for 4-5 years. Seems like it was always something, either detention they didn't want to pay or a problem at the shipper they didn't want to hear about and on and on. Some companies are just more trouble than they're worth, JB is one of them in my book. Figure out who the PITA customers are early on in your career and don't work with them, you'll be thousands of dollars ahead in the long run.

I know at least 50 simple truckers with same kind of setup as me, and they all do the same thing and almost never had any problem booking a load out of a good market. I have Allen Lund not paying my freight bill from over two years now. The Judge Claypool unlawfully dismissed the case saying Allen Lund does not do business in NJ, besides the fact that we have provided proof of tons of loads, being posted and booked from and to New Jersey. How do you expect me to deal with small broker who have no clue whatsoever what the T-check is and most of them Like Pete at GMH from MA promised to give me advance after getting loaded written on the ratesheet, but still gave me BS and tried to play it off and told me to talk to the account payable. He is small one man show what account payable BS.
I have been in business for 5 years now and have not been able to connect with a single honest broker or shipper. I have sent certified mail with my company letter head and brochure to tons of shippers who give contracts to one truck operation because of the trucking industry demand is very high. Q is that due to the tras*** behind the scene or all brokers are low lifers???

You've been in business for 5 years and still need a broker to advance you money to do a load? If your friends aren't having any trouble why don't you sign on under their authority, let them get the high rate and you take say 85% of it, which sounds like it would be more than your constant never ending problems on your own. I think maybe you just enjoy the pain a little too much ...
