Which company has better training? C.R. England, or knight?

Maybe, but I wouldn't assume so. Only a recruiter could answer that one for sure. Also, a lot is forgotten in a year...

Also, I think this happened before KLLM took them over, so I assume they have no record

Very true! As a recovering CRE company driver (10 mos.), I can assure you they are a good company to avoid. Do your research and you will probably find a much better option than CR England.

Just a friendly offering of my role playing the Devil's Advocate... You have had solid job offers to start with two excellent training companies and you skipped out on both. I would say you have a BIG problem with making a commitment. Excuse me, but are you really that serious about your being a professional driver? Clear me on this one too, but you're now earning somewhere close to $25k per year and living with your parents, but you can't swing the payments for the tuition at a driving school? You want to return to PA and live there and work from there? You have a PA drivers license and a TX drivers license with a TX CDL permit, but you don't want to have to pay the minimal amount to get another permit back in PA? You're worried about not having a car and being able to drive your truck home but alley docking, you're convinced, is a piece of cake? You know, some people never learn how to back a tractor trailer. At Stevens, you will spend days driving around their range in reverse practicing sight-side and blind-side docking skills. For an OTR driver wanting to make money, you'd better count on NOT seeing home, OR your car, for weeks and months at a time. Have you considered joining the military? You can drive big rigs there and they will make all your tough decisions for you and keep you to your commitments as well. Good luck!

    Trish in SC Thanks this.

I apologize, let me clear the air here

When I applied for FFE a year ago, I wasn't sure at the time, then when I applied to stevens my company pretty much begged me to stay (they promised me cdl training with them)

I earn about 30k per year, but I don't live with my parents, I have my own family, my own house, complete with its own set of bills, no trucking school I looked at takes payments (can't find anything on Midland College or International truck driving school)

I can't transfer my license at the moment due to my permit, and even if I could, I don't have a truck to use there

If I go over the road, I don't have any way to get home if I have to park the truck 300 miles away

On the alley dock, it can't be that hard, I can parallel park the **** thing with my eyes closed

Tried to join the military when I was 17, permanatley disqualified

You've had several different companies mentioned on here; apply at 2 or 3 and wait.
