I've been using a Burton Digital for about six months now, and have not burned any sockets. The plugs do get hot; avoid touching any metal when you pull them. The trick is to make sure you push them in firmly.
The Digital is rated at 150W (12.5A), and it runs fine on my 15A socket. Just make sure that the socket and plug contacts are clean.

Are you in a Cascadia? Which sockets are the 15A?
-
In my cascadia the dash power receptacles are 15a and the sleeper receptacle3 (I think the manual is referring to the one by the work table) is a 20a. Mine are all at least 15a.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I think only the one near my bunk is 20amp while all the others are only 10 in my cascadia

brooks or. taking 30 min break here at the pilot, then heading to sumner terminal for my ten. load delivers at 0700 tomorrow in kent wa. woke up this morning in weeds ca with a truck parked in front of me. waited about 45 min. to see if he went inside at all. was ready to go, so pulled foward abit to see if i could squeeze by but nope. so banged on his door and he got up and backed up. no other issues so far.

I would have beat on his door immediately. Amazes me how stupid and inconsiderate some drivers can be. I had to make 2 trucks move one morning in order to get out of my parking spot at the Flying J in Salt Lake City.Wolfyinc Thanks this.

Lancaster terminal for my 10. I have been enjoying working for this O/O. Coolest guy ever. I've lost count how many people have put in there opinion on how bad of an idea it is but my reply is always the same...Dont judge my situation on how bad yours is or was.

yeah it irritates me how some park sometimes, its all cool if you must make a spot but at least do not block other trucks where they cant leave and also dont block the entrance/exit where other trucks have a hard time getting past.
The worst are the ones who create their own spot even when there are plenty of free spots still open, I see this all the time too. -
Loves near Lebanon, IN headin to Elk Grove Village, IL tomorrow.

The thing with the Burton is, I think, that it draws full power ALL the time - no matter what the actual temp is set to.
I had less trouble with it in the Cascadia I had for a month. But in every other truck the plugs burnt out fairly soon.
The RoadPro lunchbox doesn't seem to have that problem, and it still gets to 300 degrees.
Plus I like the foil liners it uses. It keeps cleanup very easy.
Currently making some salmon, with Rice-a-Roni and green beans for dinner.
And currently in PA with a load with too much time, delivering tomorrow at 1600. Then I pick up a load at 2030 delivering back in NJ at 0130 that night.
I really hate the loads out here, so I just put a home time request in for Denver on the 21st. Planning to pick up my 12 year old for a ride along - if her mother would ever fax in the papers.
