Sorry crappiejunkie but I was agreeing with you. I read that guys statement as a truck driver can never have anything but I have done well trucking.
However, success cannot always be measured by possessions.

you gentlemen realize this is the canadian section, right ? and the state of the industry is now does not compare to what it was speaking to veteran drivers. further, I by no means want to imply a fellow is a bad driver if they happen to be driving a beater- but I wanted to point out that here, in canukistan, looking at the cars parked in the lot will give a good indication of what the pay is like. You have one or two benz, bmw or what thats the president and vice or cfo; if you have a really exotic car, a bentley or maybach then the president is taking way too much money that could be reinvested. I am working a well paying union gig, and see a nice spread of cars in the lot- a world apart from what I saw when I was doing long-haul. a dollar goes a hell of a lot further in the states than it does here. apples and oranges.

Maybe you guys should speak canadian so we can tell you apart.... ehhhh
lol....
Shaggy Thanks this. -
I ran at $0.41 per mile for a year and a half, then finally moved on to bigger and better things. I gotta admit, I agree with a lot of the guys. Keep plugging away, pay your dues, and take your time looking for a different company. Don't go truck hopping every time you're feeling slighted by a company, be it pay, equipment, hours etc. No company is perfect.

I'm sorry Raamman, but that is a naive statement. The car people drive is in no way a reflection of their net worth. In fact, in many cases an overly expensive car is a sign of poor decision making.Macneil Thanks this. -
So this is how a Canadian says it^^^^^
Same thing said by American:
Hey #######, can't you read - this is the Candian section.
Love it. -
With the butchered spelling of "Canadian" included eh?
nightgunner Thanks this. -
of course!
first 25 yrs in Canada - last 20 in America. I try and poke fun equally lol -
Any parking lot in the oil patch has all the fancy 4x4 trucks suv's and everything else. Majority of them are financed to the hilt. Knew a kid paying 1500 a month on his truck which sat in a parking lot for 3 weeks a month.

Right out of driving school my first job paid $25 an hour. I worked there for 7 months and got a better job. Neither one is hauling freight or lumber. You have to specialize. My current run pays around $0.75 a mile and I haven't been driving 3 years yet. It can be done.
