As we know every year GPS and their company come out with better system, I believe i got a Lowrance IWay 500c on my 09 T660, I was wondering if i can replace it with a newer one. The thing is slow and audio dont work no more and takes a few second to turn on. Does Garmin or any other good brand has a replacement kit that fits in the dash???

i think lowrance is all that'll fit. and when i looked. it was $1400. don't remember if that included installation or not.

They are 5" units.
The Kenworth I-Way 500C and 600C are discontinued with no updates available. There are several on eBay for sale. My Peterbilt had the I-Way 650C and I loved it. But with it being manufacturer specific boils down to the connector plug ins that hook to the power and the stereo system.
Lowrance got out of the auto/truck GPS market that I know of. If they are still doing it then it's specifically with the truck manufacturers with another in-dash. They still sell marine navigation and handheld.
I doubt you can find another specific replacement for that hole other than a used or refurbished I-way. The new thing is a GPS/stereo/satellite/phone/back up camera all in one unit replacement for the stereo unit.
Did you load yours down with mp3 or pictures? Perhaps that's why it's dragging. -
I forgot one option is to remove that unit and mount any GPS over the hole and use an external GPS antenna. In my pickup I have my GPS velcroed to the dash and it works fine.

LOL, screwed up the post, see below.

I have the the lowrance in my Pete and do like it, but I have thought about what if it goes down or some must have GPS comes out? Not sure about the KW, but in the Pete the screen is on the small switch panel side of the dash, should be easy to retrofit something else in there.
With that said I DO like the GPS in the dash, I really don't see how some of you guys can possibly drive with all of the crap on the dash and things pasted to or dangling off the windshield. Took a drivers truck out for a short run a couple of weeks back and it took me a hour to get dash/windshield cleaned off!
Actually, you could probably just suction cup a GPS OVER your existing screen, some of those mounts are pretty sturdy. -
Here my system
You will think with the market we have now in days, someone will come out with a unit to replace this. -
You don't think you could suction cup mount a 7" right on that screen? I would think it would stick just like it does to a windshield? -

Kansas Transit, yes i believe so, but i was just looking for another option.
Not 4 hire: I was thinking the same thing.
