Got stuck at a receiver last night. Also what is the fine if the dot catches it?

How much time was you over?I think you'll just get a warning from your company for being over hrs.In the future check your hrs before delivering it and if you think you wont have the hrs to get unloaded and find a place to stay first call the receiver to see if they have overnite trk parking if they don't ask them if there's a place close by you can stay at,if still no then tell your dispatcher and see if he can reschedule for the morning.

Dac is simply a place for member companies to post nasty things about you. A company can put whatever it wants to there. There are no legal guidelines. They can put the fact that you are ugly on your dac. It is up to you to file a protest. DAC is nothing more then a glorified gossip sheet.

Only if caught and it costs the company a lot of money or they just hate you...

Normally your boss will get an automated e-mail telling on you.If its way out,you get a phone call and asked to explain what happened.
Ive been over by a few mins.and normally never hear anything about it.Traffic happens, and wrecks don't always let you get parked in a safe
    place.
Its all up to your companies policies,as to how you will be handled for going over.
D.O.T. is another story.Stay faar away from them, and do not get into any fender benders. You wont win,if your out of hrs.
    Park it safely

I've got elogs and I go over some times. If the clock runs out when I'm 40 miles from home on a Friday, you best believe I'm going home. Once a year, I have to meet with the safety man for my "safety review" and he has a printout of all my transgressions from the previous 12 months. He tells me it's bad, I agree, and we both go about our business. It's no big deal as long as you don't make it a habit and the DOT doesn't catch you.

Carrier assigned CSA points don't really mean squat. I can't count how many log violations I got with my EOBR, and England didn't put any of them on my DAC. Those 'violations' really are nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

I was over by 45 minutes once and never even heard a word about it.

But I guess if you make the company mad about something , yea they can make your life hell.

If you have a halfway decent company, and you're unladen then you can use the vehicle to get somewhere safe to park with off duty driving.
